Installation
Note: Installation should be performed only by a qualified electrician or a
homeowner who is familiar and comfortable with electrical circuitry. If you
have any questions regarding installation, consult an electrician.
1) Turn off circuit breaker
2) Remove trim plate and old outlet
3) Connect OutletLinc's bare copper wire ground wire with wire nut
4) Connect OutletLinc's white wire to neutral wire with wire nut
5) Connect OutletLinc's black wire to line/hot wire with wire nut
Ensure all connections are solid and safe
6) Carefully install OutletLinc into electrical box and replace trim plate
7) Turn circuit breaker back on
OutletLinc's LED will blink red for about 1 minute
8) Slip OutletLinc Dimmer Key over the prongs of your lamp's plug (the
circular magnet protrusion will face the lamp's plug). See photo.
9) Plug lamp (with Dimmer Key) into top outlet on OutletLinc
The lamp will turn on and OutletLinc's LED will turn green
10) If the lamp does not turn on, turn it on manually using lamp's switch
11) Tap Set button on OutletLinc
Lamp will turn off (if on) and on (if off)
LED will be green when lamp is on and red when it is off
Add OutletLinc to a Scene as an INSTEON Responder
1) Plug lamp (with Dimmer Key) into top outlet
LED will turn green (if not, rotate knob/switch on lamp until it
turns green )
2) Press and hold the controller scene button until it beeps*
Controller LED will blink
3) Press and hold Set button on OutletLinc until it double-beeps
OutletLinc's LED will flash once and return to green
4) Confirm that linking was successful by tapping the controller scene
button on and off
The lamp plugged into the OutletLinc will turn on and off
